Omima Bawi is a lawyer with constitutional and human rights expertise who has worked with the Libyan security forces. She was involved in the drafting of Libya’s constitution, in the fact-finding and reconciliation commission and she is also member of a committee for human rights for displaced persons and political prisoners. Bawi trained a disarmament body within the DDR program and she has participated in many workshops on human rights.
In October 2016, Bawi participated in the Mediation Conference that Operation 1325 organized in cooperation with the Swedish Institute in Alexandria.
