On Friday, we received the happy news that myndigheten för ungdoms – och civilsamhällesfrågor (MUCF) has granted Operation 1325 support for conducting activities promoting democracy.
Next year, Operation 1325 will launch the Digital Democracy Academy – a project focusing on young girls in socially disadvantaged suburbs. Through the Digital Democracy Academy they will receive information on resolutions 1325 and 2242, and thereafter operate as democracy ambassadors in social media. The project will train the girls in drawing attention to anti-democratic and sexist discourses that promote violent extremism and to counteract this by reporting.
