This fall Operation 1325 will be visiting four cities as a part of a seminar tour. These cities include Lund, Örebro, Uppsala and Umeå. The tour is called ”Actors for Sustainable Peace – A Seminar Tour About Women Gaining Power in Peace Processes.”
Through the seminars we would like to spread knowledge about how the work with 1325 is carried out by grassroot-level organisations, within politics, in science and within the UN system.
The seminars will address the challenges that the resolution still faces and discuss the progress that has been made in terms of implementation. The seminars will also provide answers to key questions such as what separates and unites the work of practioners on different levels. Joining us on the seminar tour are various human rights advocates, gender experts, and peace and conflict practioners from Sudan, South Sudan, Israel and Palestine.
The seminar tour is organised in collaboration with the Association of International Affairs (UF) at the different universities and with the member organisations of Operation 1325, and in particular with their local associations. Through the local associations we would like the audience of the seminar to learn more about their local work, and encourage a further commitment to these issues.
