Liza Hido is co-founder and president of the Baghdad Women Association, founded in 2004 to advance women’s leadership. She serves as the only woman representing civil society in the Iraqi government’s reconciliation committee, where she advises the Ministries of Defense and Interior on women’s priorities for peace and how to include them in countering violent extremism. She is also an expert on dialogue between ethnic and religious groups, and on reconciliation.
In October 2016, Hido participated in the Mediation Conference that Operation 1325 organized in cooperation with the Swedish Institute in Alexandria.
