Evolving Further Collaboration
Report from a Dialogue Seminar with Women Peace Agents from Israel and Palestine, Stockholm, Sweden, September 2009.

During the seminar, discussions arose regarding women's participation in peace processes and to to raise the issue of involving women in peace on an EU level. To enbale the discussions to be spread, the paricipants met with Swedish EU parlamentarian Anna Hedh (S). The participants discussed, among other things, about the EU's policy towards Israel and women with support from the EU can make their voices heard and change the process within the scope of resolution 1325.

Some of the results that the seminar lead to:

  • The EU shall put pressure on Israel and Palestine in engaging more women in the peace process
  • The EU shall invite women and NGOs to peace negotiations
  • The EU shall at least meet women when visiting Israel and Palestine
