Security Council Resolution 1325: Civil Society Monitoring Report

23/03/2012 09:42

During the summer of 2011, Operation 1325's coordinator Emma Johansson and eight summer interns did a review of how Sweden lives up to the 16 indicators that the EU created as measuring tools to analyse how the work with resolution 1325 proceeds.

The EU's 16 indicators stem from different parts of resolution 1325. They are analysing instruments meant to measure how far a country has come in implementing resolution 1325. As proof of how Sweden is doing, Operation 1325 therefore made a study on how the resolution fares here.

The result showed that Sweden is in good shape when it comes to a large number of indicators, like women's participation in political and constitutional circumstances. However, Sweden receives criticism from the authors regarding women's representation in peace keeping missions and prevalence in the security sector, among others. The full indicator report is available in the top right corner of this page.
