Operation 1325 talks about women, peace and security at GADIP

SoME Gavobevis 2023

20 October 2015

In order to pay attention to the twentieth anniversary for the global women’s movement that led up to the Beijing Platform for Action, Gender and Development in Practice (GADIP) will host a conference in Gothenburg, 21-22 November.

During a two-day conference with lectures and workshops related to the Beijing Platform twelve critical areas for development, Operation 1325 is hosting a seminar. We will exchange our expirience and knowledge about women’s important participation in peace processes; give concrete examples of where the UN Security Council Resolution 1325 on women, peace and security and the sister resolutions have been and can be used; and discuss how to use media and CSO interaction towards greater participation of women in the MENA-region. This is a great opportunity for the civil society to gather for discussion about challenges ahead and reflect on women’s rights today.
