Letter from Margot Wallström

SoME Gavobevis 2023

1 September 2015

To us at Operation 1325, it was a positive message when the Social Democratic government declared to pursue a feminist foreign policy. We are an umbrella organization that works to empower women in decisionmaking about peace and conflict – something that is most essential in order to create sustainable peace. In accordance with our agenda about women, peace and security we have expressed our support for the Swedish foreign minister Margot Wallström in the national as well as international work to implement UNSCR 1325.

We believe that a gender perspective on conflict management and security issues should be seen as an effective tool to promote peace, democracy and gender equality. Therefore we were very happy to receive a letter from Margot Wallström, thanking us for our valuable job!
