Is Sweden implementing UNSCR 1325?

SoME Gavobevis 2023

4 December 2012

UNSCR 1325, which was adopted by the UN Security Council in 2000, was in many ways groundbreaking. Much has been achieved in the 12 years since Resolution 1325 was adopted. However, much remains to be done.

Sweden was one of the first countries to adopt a National Action Plan (NAP) for the implementation of the resolution which to date is the most relevant government policy on UNSCR 1325. Operation 1325 is launching ‘Women Count – Sweden’s implementation of UNSCR 1325’, a report which looks at the extent to which Sweden has implemented UNSCR 1325 on women, peace and security. The purpose of this launch is to present the monitoring report to relevant stakeholders and to have a discussion about the findings of the report.

About the Report: The objective of Operation 1325’s report is to analyse Sweden’s implementation of UNSCR 1325 and to give recommendations for the way forward.

Date:
Wednesday 12th December 2012
4.00pm-6.00pm (followed by a reception)

Venue:
Raoul Wallenberg Room, Embassy of Canada to Sweden
Klarabergsgatan 23 (7th floor), Stockholm
