GQUAL is a global campaign for gender parity in international representation.Next week, representatives from the campaign will be hosting an informational meeting at the United Nations’ Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW)The goal of the meeting is to generate a discussion about possible ways in which CEDAW can provide the framework for the dissemination of information and the development of standards and practices that can promote gender equality across international tribunals and monitoring bodies.
The meeting, which is being sponsored by the Campaign, the Center for Justice and International Law (CEJIL), the Academy of Human Rights and Humanitarian Law at American University Washington College of Law, the International Development Law Organization (IDLO), the Association for the Prevention of Torture (APT) and World Organisation Against Torture (OMCT) will be held on November 6th at 1:45 p.m.
